A DeWalt circular saw for Black Friday 2026 comes down to three choices: a 20V MAX cordless saw for general cutting, a 60V MAX saw on FLEXVOLT batteries for heavier work, or a corded 7-1/4 inch saw if you cut near an outlet. Then check the blade size and whether a battery and charger are included.
Pick the power source first
DeWalt’s circular saw range falls into three power groups, and the one you pick decides what else you need to buy.
- 20V MAX and 20V MAX XR: the same battery family as most DeWalt drills. The XR saws are brushless and come in 7-1/4 inch and 6-1/2 inch sizes.
- 60V MAX and FLEXVOLT 60V MAX: larger saws that need a FLEXVOLT battery. DeWalt lists a 60V MAX brushless saw with an electronic brake and a FLEXVOLT worm drive style saw.
- Corded: the DWE575SB is a 7-1/4 inch saw with a 15 amp motor, an electric brake and a weight of 8.8 lbs.
If you already own 20V MAX batteries, a 20V MAX saw sold as tool only adds the least cost. The DeWalt Black Friday guide explains the battery platforms in more detail.
DeWalt circular saws to compare
Check the battery platform first, 20V MAX or FLEXVOLT, and the blade size. Then read whether it is a bare tool or a kit with a battery and charger.

Blade size and what it cuts
A 7-1/4 inch blade is the standard framing size and cuts through 2x lumber in one pass; the corded DWE575SB lists a 2-9/16 inch depth of cut. A 6-1/2 inch saw is lighter and handles plywood, trim and most 2x stock. The ATOMIC 4-1/2 inch saw is a compact tool for sheet goods and thin material, not framing.
Weight follows size. A compact saw is easier to hold overhead or on a ladder, while a 7-1/4 inch saw gives the deeper cut needed for framing. If most of your cutting is plywood for shelves or projects, a 6-1/2 inch cordless saw is often enough.
DeWalt also sells a 20V MAX XR metal cutting saw. It is a separate tool built for metal, so do not mistake it for a wood saw in a listing title.
What to compare
| What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Model number | DeWalt names many saws alike; the code (for example DCS570, DCS578, DWE575SB) tells them apart |
| Platform | 20V MAX, 60V MAX or corded decides which batteries you need |
| Blade size | 7-1/4, 6-1/2 or 4-1/2 inches sets the depth of cut |
| Tool only or kit | A kit should name the battery and charger it includes |
| Brake | Check the product page; not every model has one |
Before you buy
Read the listing title for “tool only” first, since a bare saw arrives with no battery or charger. Match the model number with DeWalt’s product page, and check that the condition says new and the photos show the actual box. A blade usually comes with the saw, but confirm it in the item description. Seller feedback and a clear returns policy are worth more than a long title, and warranty terms can depend on the seller.

Frequently asked questions
What size blade does a DeWalt circular saw use?
Most full-size DeWalt circular saws take a 7-1/4 inch blade. DeWalt also sells 6-1/2 inch cordless models and a 4-1/2 inch ATOMIC compact saw, so match the blade to the model number.
Is FLEXVOLT the same as 60V MAX?
FLEXVOLT batteries run 60V MAX tools and also fit 20V MAX tools. A 60V MAX saw needs a FLEXVOLT battery; a standard 20V MAX battery will not power it.
Does a corded DeWalt circular saw still make sense?
Yes, if you mostly cut near an outlet. The corded DWE575SB has a 15 amp motor and needs no batteries, which keeps the cost of entry down.
