Heights, from ankle to calf

Wikipedia notes that sheepskin boots range from just above the ankle to above the knee. In the Classic range, the Ultra Mini sits about 3.5 to 3.75 inches tall, just over the ankle bone, and the Mini rises to roughly 5 to 5.5 inches, onto the lower calf. Flat sole or platform

The platform versions add a raised EVA-based sole. A retailer guide says the Ultra Mini Platform flexes more at the forefoot than the Tazz slip-on but is stiffer than a flat-soled Mini. If you plan to walk a lot, a flat sole is the easier choice. The platform suits shoppers who want extra height and are happy with a heavier boot.

How to size UGG Classic boots

UGG labels use US sizes, and most of the range comes in whole sizes only. For Classic boots, one retailer guide says to round a half size down, because the lining compresses and the boot feels snug for the first two or three wears.
