For Black Friday 2026, the Bose SoundLink range runs from the clip-on Micro to the carry-handle Max. The current family of Micro (2nd Gen), Flex (2nd Gen), Plus and Max pairs together and shares an IP67 rating where Bose lists one. The Home is an indoor speaker, and the Revolve+ II is an older 360-degree design.

The Max also charges a phone over USB-C and has a removable rope handle; its IP67 rating covers dust, water, rust and drops.

Pairing two speakers

Bose offers two ways to link speakers. Party Mode plays the same sound on two speakers at once and works with any two from the current SoundLink family: Micro (2nd Gen), Flex (2nd Gen), Plus and Max. A Micro can therefore pair with a Max. Stereo Mode splits left and right channels and needs two of the same model. The current family uses Bluetooth 5.3 or later with multipoint, a range of about 30 feet, and the Bose app.

Two SoundLink Home speakers can also pair for stereo. The Revolve+ II pairs only with other Bose speakers through the older Bose Connect app and sits outside that current pairing list, so a mixed setup with newer speakers may not work.

Home and Revolve+: the odd ones out

The SoundLink Home, from October 2024, is built for indoor use. It has no water or dust rating, lists up to 9 hours of battery and accepts wired audio over USB-C. That makes it a fit for a desk or bedside rather than a picnic.

The Revolve+ II is an older model with a handle and 360-degree sound. It is rated IP55, weighs about 2 pounds (907 grams) and still charges over micro-USB. A listing for one is likely to be older stock or a used unit.

The Bose Black Friday guide covers headphones, earbuds and soundbars.

Questions to ask of a speaker listing

Is the generation named? “SoundLink Micro” and “SoundLink Flex” each exist in a first and 2nd Gen version, and only the 2nd Gen joins the current Party Mode family. Does the charging port match the model: USB-C on current speakers, micro-USB on the older Revolve+ II and first Micro? Is the strap or rope handle included where the model has one? And is the unit new, open box or refurbished?

Frequently asked questions

Can I pair two different Bose SoundLink speakers?

Yes, in Party Mode, which plays the same audio on any two speakers from the current SoundLink family: the Micro (2nd Gen), Flex (2nd Gen), Plus and Max. Stereo Mode, with left and right channels, needs two of the same model.

Which SoundLink speakers can go in the pool?

The SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen), Plus and Max are rated IP67, and Bose says the Plus floats. The SoundLink Home has no water or dust rating and belongs indoors.

Is the SoundLink Revolve+ II part of the current family?

Bose does not list it among the speakers that join Party Mode in the current family. It is an older design rated IP55, charged over micro-USB and set up through the Bose Connect app.
