The Supersonic is Dyson’s hair dryer. The Nural version adds a sensor that lowers the heat as the dryer nears your scalp and comes with five attachments. When comparing Black Friday 2026 listings, check which version is named and which attachments are shown.
Original or Nural?
The Nural launched in the US in May 2024. Its time-of-flight sensor uses an infrared beam to measure distance to your hair. In Scalp protect mode, heat falls to about 131°F (55°C) as the dryer comes closer, and a light on the capsule moves from yellow to orange to red.
Two other features are worth knowing. Attachment learning remembers the last heat and airflow settings for each attachment. Pause detect uses an accelerometer to switch off the heater and drop the airflow when you put the dryer down between passes.

A cheap-looking listing that says only “Dyson hair dryer” could be any generation. Look for “Nural” in the title if you want the scalp sensor, and for the five attachments in the photos.
