The Tasman is a flat, clog-style slipper in suede with a braided collar, made to move between the house and the porch. The Tazz uses the same collar on a platform sole about 1.75 inches high. Choose the Tasman for walking, and the Tazz for height.
Tasman or Tazz?
| Detail | Tasman | Tazz |
|---|---|---|
| Shape | Clog-style slipper | Slip-on mule |
| Sole | Flat | Platform, about 1.75 in |
| Collar | UGGbraid | UGGbraid |
| Upper | Suede, with sheepskin | Suede |
| Walkability | Easier for errands and short walks | Heavier and stiffer |
One retailer guide calls the Tasman an indoor-outdoor utility shoe and says the Tazz puts looks ahead of walkability. A second guide says the Tazz II uses a Sugarcane EVA outsole. Some sources list 1.5 inches for the Tazz platform, but the guide with the 1.75 figure says that number is wrong.

Fit and heel slip
The woven UGGbraid collar on both styles does not loosen over time. The Tazz tends to slip at the heel, which a retailer guide blames on the platform height, and sizing down will not cure it. Half sizes are not made in most of the range, and the advice on rounding is mixed, so treat sizing as a decision to confirm against the brand’s own chart.
The UGG slippers page covers the other house styles, and the UGG hub lists every page in this set.
Quick listing check
- Tasman and Tazz can look alike in thumbnails, so look at the sole in the photos.
- “Tasman II” and “Tazz II” are newer versions with their own names. Read the whole title.
- Check the color name and the label inside the shoe.
- Prefer a seller with returns, since slippers fit differently from boots.
Frequently asked questions
Can I wear the UGG Tasman outside?
Retailer guides describe it as an indoor and outdoor slipper, with an EVA outsole. It is suede, so it is not a rain shoe.
How does the Tasman fit?
Guides disagree. Some say true to size, others say to go up if you are between sizes; the true-to-size advice is for the Tazz. Check the brand's size chart and pick a seller that accepts returns.
