Garmin for Black Friday 2026 in the UK comes down to two watch lines for most shoppers: the Forerunner for running and triathlon training, and the fēnix for premium multisport and outdoor use. Each has its own page with the models, case sizes and screen types to compare before 27 November.

Who makes Garmin watches

Garmin began in October 1989 as ProNav in Lenexa, Kansas, and moved from GPS navigation into fitness and outdoor wearables. It has been incorporated in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, since 2010, with its operational headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. The first Forerunner running watch arrived in 2003 and the first fēnix in 2012.

The two lines in brief

The Forerunner uses its model number as a rough tier. The 900s are the triathlon flagships with maps, the 500s and 200s are the training middle, and the 100s and below suit newer runners. The 265 and 965 in 2023 were the first Forerunners with AMOLED screens.

The fēnix is built for long days outside. The fēnix 8 from August 2024 comes as an AMOLED version in 43, 47 and 51 mm, or as a Solar version with an always-on screen and a charging lens in 47 and 51 mm. Every fēnix 8 has a 40-metre dive rating and an LED torch. There is also a newer fēnix 8 Pro, an older fēnix 7 Pro and a pared-down fēnix E, covered on the fēnix page.

What to look for in any Garmin listing

Model suffixes carry most of the meaning. S usually marks a smaller case and X a larger one, while Pro, Solar, Sapphire and Music each change the hardware. So read the full name, then confirm the case size in millimetres. Check that the charging cable is in the box. For a used or refurbished watch, look at the lens and screen condition and make sure it has been removed from the seller’s Garmin account. Features such as Garmin Pay depend on your bank, so check that yours is supported.
