For Black Friday 2026 in the UK, most Bose choices fall into two ranges: QuietComfort noise-cancelling headphones and SoundLink portable speakers. In each range, read the model name and the generation, not just the badge. Bose reuses names across several years, so an older box can look much like the newest one.
Who makes Bose
Bose was founded in 1964 and is based in Framingham, Massachusetts. MIT holds the majority of its shares as non-voting stock. The first QuietComfort noise-cancelling headphones went on sale in 2000, aimed at airline passengers, and the name now covers over-ear headphones and earbuds.
The two ranges in brief
QuietComfort over-ear headphones come in two lines: the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones and the standard QuietComfort Headphones. Both are now on a 2nd Gen version. Bose UK announced the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones (2nd Gen) on 10 September 2025, rated at up to 30 hours of battery, and the QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) on 6 August 2026, rated at up to 24 hours. The newer standard model gained Immersive Audio, which Bose had kept for Ultra models until then. The older QuietComfort 45 from 2021 is still sold as refurbished and open-box stock.
SoundLink covers Bluetooth speakers from the small Micro, which clips to a bag, up to the Max, which has a rope handle and is built for a group. The current models can pair with each other, and several are rated to survive dust and a dunk in water.

What to check in any Bose listing
Read the title for three things: the full model name, the generation and the condition. “Bose QuietComfort” alone could mean headphones or earbuds, Ultra or standard. A refurbished or open-box unit may come with a shorter warranty than a new one, so look for the terms on the listing. Check the box contents too: cases, cables and straps vary by model, and a charger with a UK plug is not always included.
