Samsung’s UK TV range runs from Crystal UHD at the entry level, through Mini LED and Neo QLED, to OLED and Micro RGB at the top. For Black Friday 2026, settle on the panel type first, then the screen size, and read the full model name in each listing so you know which year’s set it is.
The ranges, from entry to top
Samsung UK groups its 2026 sets into six families. Crystal UHD is the 4K entry range with PurColour. QLED adds a quantum dot layer for brighter, more saturated colour. Mini LED (M80H, M70H) uses local dimming zones and is new for 2026. It sits below Neo QLED, and the M70H is edge-lit and has no quantum dots.
Neo QLED (QN80H, QN70H) pairs quantum dots with a Mini LED backlight. OLED (S99H, S95H) uses pixels that light themselves, so each can switch off for a true black. Micro RGB uses independent red, green and blue LEDs.

What to compare
| Range | Check in the listing |
|---|---|
| Crystal UHD | Model year, number of HDMI ports |
| Mini LED | M70H or M80H, refresh rate, quantum dots or not |
| Neo QLED | QN70H or QN80H, screen size |
| OLED | Model name, and whether Glare Free is listed |
Not every Samsung OLED has the Glare Free screen, so look for it by name in the listing if reflections are a concern.
Light, films and gaming
Where the TV goes matters as much as the range. In a sunny lounge, a bright LED-backlit set such as a Mini LED or Neo QLED model copes well with reflections. In a darker room used mostly for films in the evening, an OLED’s deep blacks show at their best.
If you play on a console, look for a 120Hz or higher refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 ports in the listing. Some entry sets do not offer the higher rate. A faster panel also helps football and other sport look smoother.
Size and the room
Measure the wall or the TV unit, then check the width of the set’s feet or pedestal against it. Think about where you sit, too: a set that suits a long lounge can feel large across a small front room. The M80H runs from 50 to 100 inches, so the range covers most rooms.
If you want a set that hangs flat and shows art, The Frame is a separate model. Other Samsung products are on the Samsung Black Friday UK hub.
Before you buy
- The model year letter: H for 2026, F for 2025, as in the U8000F.
- A UK three-pin plug and a UK-market set, since a TV made for another country may not tune UK channels.
- Open-box condition, as screen damage is the main risk.
- Whether the stand or a wall bracket is in the box.
- The seller’s returns terms, and who handles the warranty if the panel fails.

Frequently asked questions
Which Samsung TV range is the step up from Crystal UHD?
For 2026 the next step is Mini LED (M70H and M80H), then Neo QLED (QN70H and QN80H). OLED and the Micro RGB sets sit at the top.
Does every Samsung QLED-style name mean quantum dots?
No. The 2026 Mini LED M70H has no quantum dot layer, while Neo QLED sets do. Read the panel type in the listing rather than relying on a Q in the name.
